Indian man arranges his own kidnap, collects N7m from employers

Indian man Vishwanath Mishall, 46, pictured above has been arrested by the Anti-Kidnap squad of the Nigerian Police force for arranging his own kidnap. According to police report, Mr Mishall left his residence in Abuja and traveled to Enugu state where he got someone to call his employer, saying he'd been kidnapped and will only be released if a ransom of N10 million was paid.

His employer eventually agreed to N7million for his release and the money was paid into an account provided by Mr Mishal and his accomplice. When Mishal went to the bank on Thursday Feb. 12th to cash the money, he was immediately arrested by men of the Enugu state Police command. Continue

Scores Feared Injured As Bomb Explosion Rocks 3 Courts In Rivers State

According to a report on Premium Times, a coordinated bombing of three different courts has occurred in the politically charged South-South state of Rivers, the state police command has said. A high court was bombed in Port Harcourt, the state capital, while two others were similarly attacked in Degema and Isiokpo, police said. Details of the bombings as well as casualty figure are still however sketchy.

1 Killed & Scores Wounded As Explosion Rocks GEJ's Campaign Venue In Gombe

A bomb has exploded outside a stadium in Nigeria's Gombe city, minutes after President Goodluck Jonathan had left a campaign rally there. At least one bystander was killed and seven others wounded when the car bomb exploded, Reuters news agency reports.Mohammed Bolari, who was at the rally, said the explosion occurred some three minutes after Mr Jonathan's departure. "The president had just passed the parking lot and we were trailing behind his convoy when the explosion happened," he is quoted as saying.

Father & Daughter From Chinese Cult Executed For Beating Woman To Death

A father and daughter who belonged to a Chinese cult have been executed for beating a woman to death with an iron bar at a McDonald's restaurant as customers watched. Zhang Fan, 29, and Zhang Lidong, 54, were among five members of the bannedQuannengshen cult convicted of attacking the woman after she reportedly rebuffed their attempts to recruit her. The pair 'were put to death by the Intermediate People's Court of Yantai city', China's official news agency Xinhua said.
