The armed robbers who shot and killed the Deputy Editor of Saturday Newswatch newspapers, Toyin Obadina (pictured left0 on February 3rd along the Itoikin Old Ijebu-Ode road, have been arrested by men of the Lagos state police command, eight months after they carried out the dastard act.

The notorious armed robbers named Adeshina Festus, Sunday Samuel, Ibrahim Adeokin and Babatunde Makinde, (all pictured right) were arrested after two members of their gang led the police to their hideout in Ikorodu.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has secured an order of the Federal High Court, Kano for forfeiture of the properties of Ms Yagana Ibrahim Bukar [a.k.a Aisha Shettima Noor]. By the order, the properties of the accused person which are believed to be proceeds of crime are to be forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The assets include various sums of money stashed in three different bank accounts, a Honda Accord car with registration No. BD 496 NSR, a Toyota Matrix Car with registration No. FGE 122 AE and a Shop with goods situated at Badawa Layout, Kano.

The forfeiture order followed the refusal of the accused who is being prosecuted on two separate criminal charges bordering on money laundering, stealing and obtaining by false pretence, to present herself for trial after she was granted bail upon arraignment.

Five Lance Corporals of the Nigerian army were yesterday October 21st arraigned before a military court at the Army Headquarters Garrison, Mogadishu cantonment in Abuja over a two count charge of conspiracy to commit mutiny and mutiny.

A newly married woman cut off the genitals of her husband with a blade, when he was asleep inside his house in Giridipalli village under Odagan block of Nayapalli district in Odisha. Police said the young couple had quarrel at night, and at around 2 am the wife "Bobbitted" her husband's genitals with a blade. Gunmen open fire inside parliament building in Ottawa, Canada

Multiple gunmen stormed the Canadian Parliament complex and the National War Memorial in Ottawa around 10am this morning Wednesday October 22nd and started shooting at people. One soldier was killed (at the Canadian war memorial). According to eye witnesses, a gunman came down from a car, walked up to the soldier and shot him dead. One of the shooters was later killed by police.

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper had to be evacuated from the government building, which is currently on lock down. Schools and the US embassy are also on lock down in Ottawa.
