No matter if you think your wife is perfect, or believe her to have several flaws, you should always love her however she performs...
According to the President of FamilyLife Dennis Rainey, the reason so many men allow their wife to take control in the household is because they don’t know how to take charge of their responsibility as a man, because they don’t follow the Bible.
The co-author “Moments Together for Couples” and “Staying Close” writes that this is one of the reasons that our once strong nation has declined in its culture and moral values, because our children don’t have role models.
The reason for this absence of male leadership in the home is because over the last few decades, men and women have listened to a society who have told them that the gender roles have changed from the past and this is now the way to live, wrote Rainey.
If both partners in a marriage will follow these few simple Biblical rules then they will have a happier home with children who grow up to be obedient and worthwhile members of society, according to the CEO.
- The Man Must Lead. Rainey believes that if we follow 1 Corinthians 11:3 which states that above all is God, followed by Christ, the man and then the woman, we cannot go far wrong. He adds that although God as placed man as head over the woman, her obedience to him must be voluntarily submitted and not dominated by the man. God’s Word tells us in Galatians 3:28 that we are all equal in his eyes. He doesn’t look down on us as being Jew or Greek, male or female, slave or freeman because we are all His children, according to Rainey.
- A Man’s Love for his Wife Should Be Unconditional. No matter if you think your wife is perfect, or believe her to have several flaws, you should always love her however she performs because this is what it tells us in Ephesians 5:25 and she is God’s gift to you. Rainey continues that men should tell their wives often that they love them and demonstrate their love for them with their actions.
- The Man Should Show Servitude to his Wife. Men should follow the example of Christ in John 13:1-17, where although He was their master, He washed the feet of His disciples, according to Rainey. He adds that doesn’t mean washing her feet, but tending to her needs and listening to her wants and desires. Remember that Christ came down to earth in human form even though He is head over us all, concludes Rainey.
