The armed robbers who shot and killed the Deputy Editor of Saturday Newswatch newspapers, Toyin Obadina (pictured left0 on February 3rd along the Itoikin Old Ijebu-Ode road, have been arrested by men of the Lagos state police command, eight months after they carried out the dastard act.

The notorious armed robbers named Adeshina Festus, Sunday Samuel, Ibrahim Adeokin and Babatunde Makinde, (all pictured right) were arrested after two members of their gang led the police to their hideout in Ikorodu.

Zimbabwe's first lady, Grace Mugabe on Thursday announced her candidacy to succeed her husband, 90-year-old President Robert Mugabe, when he leaves office. EFCC Press Release: Suspected Rogue Banker Forfeits Properties To FG
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has secured an order of the Federal High Court, Kano for forfeiture of the properties of Ms Yagana Ibrahim Bukar [a.k.a Aisha Shettima Noor]. By the order, the properties of the accused person which are believed to be proceeds of crime are to be forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The assets include various sums of money stashed in three different bank accounts, a Honda Accord car with registration No. BD 496 NSR, a Toyota Matrix Car with registration No. FGE 122 AE and a Shop with goods situated at Badawa Layout, Kano.

The forfeiture order followed the refusal of the accused who is being prosecuted on two separate criminal charges bordering on money laundering, stealing and obtaining by false pretence, to present herself for trial after she was granted bail upon arraignment.

There have been reports online that Governor Fashola's aide Folly Coker is the real owner of Don Jazzy's record label, Mavin Records. Mr Coker has rubbished the tale, calling it crap! See the statement that was released today below...

Over 1000 youths gathered at the Eagles square, Surulere on Sunday Oct. 20th to interact with actor,Desmond Elliot and to endorse his candidature for the APC constituency seat ticket at the Lagos State House of Assembly Representing Surulere constituency one.

Multiple gunmen stormed the Canadian Parliament complex and the National War Memorial in Ottawa around 10am this morning Wednesday October 22nd and started shooting at people. One soldier was killed (at the Canadian war memorial). According to eye witnesses, a gunman came down from a car, walked up to the soldier and shot him dead. One of the shooters was later killed by police.

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper had to be evacuated from the government building, which is currently on lock down. Schools and the US embassy are also on lock down in Ottawa. A Nigerian woman was turned away from a Trinidad & Tobago airport last Friday, in accordance with the country’s new policies instituted to prevent Ebola from spreading into its territory. Jamaica Observer reports that after landing at Piarco International Airport, health officials interviewed the woman immediately after she disembarked from a Copa Airlines flight, which had departed from Panama and made a stop in Venezuela.

Veteran Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke has joined the growing number of Nigerian celebrities venturing into politics. According to a report on Daily Independent,Jim Iyke recently joined the newly registered Young Democratic Party as its Director General in the Diaspora. Talking to the magazine, the nollywood bad boy explains that he is not joining politics for the money (or a political post) but for the change that he can bring to the country. A Nigerian man based in Maryland, Dominic Adesanya, (pictured above) has been arrested after jumping the White House Fence. According to police reports, around 7.15pm yesterday Wednesday October 22nd, Adesanya, 23, climbed the fence on the North Lawn of the building and got about 20 yards past the fence before he was taken down by Secret Service and dogs.

He's currently in police custody but is being treated in a hospital for injuries he sustained during the encounter. He was attacked by K.9 dogs. Continue to see photos from the incident...

There are reports that about 60 women were abducted by members of Boko Haram during fresh attacks at Waga Mangoro and Garta villages, both in Adamawa State this past Saturday October 18th.

Residents of the villages who confirmed the abductions to reporters said the sect men came in motorcycles in the early hours of Saturday morning, killed many, burnt down their homes and abducted 40 women from Waga Mangoro village and 20 women from Garta village.

A bomb exploded at a bus station in Bauchi state late on Wednesday, killing at least five people and wounding 12, police said. The blast, which struck the town of Azare, is likely to be blamed on Islamist Boko Haram militants, casting further doubt on government reports that it had reached a temporary ceasefire with the rebels in order to secure the release of more than 200 schoolgirls they are holding hostage. Police did not comment on who was behind the attack.

A woman seemed to experience a brain snap after she couldn't get any cash out of the ATM prompting her to tear apart the machine with her own hands. The lady created quite a scene in a shopping mall in Dongguan in the Chinese province of Guangdong when she astoundingly dismantled the machine within a matter of minutes. The extreme behaviour drew an intrigued crowd of shoppers to gather around and watch the strange event unfold while taking photos on their phones.

South African Olympic gold medal star and girlfriend killer, Oscar Pistoriuscried himself to sleep on the first night of his five-year jail term for shooting dead his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. The 27-year-old star was taken to the Kgosi Mampuru Prison in Pretoria to serve his jail term. Infected Dallas Nurse, Amber Vinson Cured Of Ebola Virus

Officials at Emory University Hospital and the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention could no longer detect Ebola in Amber Vinson - a Texas nurse who flew to Ohio and back before she was diagnosed with the virus, Her family said in a statement released through a media consultant on Wednesday. Vinson's mother,Debra Berry, has spoken to her, and she has been approved for transfer from isolation, the statement said.

A citizen journalist named Dr María del Rosario Fuentes Rubio from Reynosa, Mexico, who spoke out against organised crime in her city was tracked down and brutally killed by Mexican drug cartel who then hacked into her twitter account and used it to announce her death and then posted a photo of her bloody, lifeless body.

The cruel pic was accompanied by a series of tweets, which started by saying: 'Friends and family, my real name is María del Rosario Fuentes Rubio. I am a physician. Today my life has reached its end. Do not make the same mistake I did.' Continue...

Relief came for a blind teacher, Mary Ihekanacho on Wednesday October 22, 2014 as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) presented her with a draft of N550, 000 which the anti-graft agency recovered from a gang of fraudsters that swindled her of N830,000 in a job scam. The syndicate conned the woman by promising to facilitate her son’s employment with one of the oil companies.
